The 9th Annual Construction Career Expo introduced 525 high school students to the Construction Industry as a viable career choice.  The Expo was held on Tuesday, October 7th at the Operating Engineers Training Center.  The students and 45 instructors/counselors attended from 14 different high schools in the Miami Valley.  A dozen building trades set-up exhibitors’ booths to provide information and hands on activities, such as welding, bricklaying, pouring plaster molds, operating heavy equipment, etc.   The Annual Construction Career Expo is hosted by the Miami Valley Building Trades Apprenticeship Group and funded by the MV Alliance of Construction Professionals and other Sponsors.

All students were greeted by Randy Fox, AGC West Central Ohio Division’s Executive Director, who provided the day’s instructions.   While in the Expo, the students were encouraged to speak with building trade representatives and participate in the hands on activities.  All students and their chaperones were served a lunch, before heading back to their respective school campuses.
